Graham Wooten collected five runs batted in and hit two home runs, including a tie-breaking two-run homer with two outs in the top of the eighth as Mount Olive salvaged the final game of a three-game series with a 13-9 victory over St. Andrews in Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference baseball Sunday at Laurinburg, N.C.

Donald Huff, who has yet to allow a run in seven appearances this season, closed the game with 21/3 scoreless innings of relief to improve to 4-0. Huff allowed only one hit and one walk after St. Andrews had erupted for 13 hits through the first 62/3 innings.

Wooten, David Cooper and Mike Kicia collected three hits apiece to lead Mount Olive's 18-hit attack.

The win improves Mount Olive to 14-5 overall and 5-4 in the CVAC.

Mount Olive was swept by St. Andrews in Saturday's doubleheader, falling 5-3 in game one and 8-6 in game two.

In the first game, St. Andrews broke a 2-2 tie in the fifth inning and went ahead to stay. Dustin Richardson had three hits for Mount Olive.

In the second game, St. Andrews broke open a one-run game with four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Josh Carter's two-run double highlighted a three-run rally in the top of the seventh for the Trojans.

Saturday's results snapped a seven-game winning streak for Mount Olive.

Mount Olive returns to action Tuesday as the Trojans head to Florence, S.C., to begin a two-day non-conference series against nationally 18th-ranked Francis Marion. The two teams play Tuesday at 7 p.m. and Wednesday at 2 p.m.
