GAFFNEY, S.C. -- A two-run bases-loaded double with two outs in the bottom of the ninth was the difference as Mount Olive fell to Limestone 6-5 in extra innings in game two of a Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference softball doubleheader Wednesday.

The Trojans fell 5-2 in game one as Limestone rallied for four runs in the bottom of the fifth to overcome a one-run deficit.

Mount Olive (9-4 overall, 0-4 CVAC) took a 2-1 lead in the top of the fourth in game one as Tiffanie Pittman and Melissa Bright both reached on errors and Georgette Richardson brought them home with a two-run double.

Limestone (7-5, 4-0) used an RBI triple and a pair of RBI doubles in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead for good.

In the second game, Bailey Harrell's two-run single in the top of the sixth gave Mount Olive a 2-1 lead, but Limestone answered with a run in the bottom of the sixth. The Saints threatened to break the game open, but Trojan pitcher Shauna Cowdrey ended a bases-loaded threat on a pop-out to the mound for the final out.

Mount Olive regained the lead in the top of the seventh when Karen Thornton doubled with one out, advanced to second on a ground out and scored when Colleen Thomas reached on an error. But Limestone tied the game in the bottom of the inning on Amy Yates' two-out RBI triple. Harrell's RBI single in the top of the eighth put the Trojans on top 4-3, but a two-out error in bottom of the eighth tied the game again.

The Trojans went ahead again in the top of the ninth when Bright scored on a ground out, but Candice Evans's two-out double with the bases loaded drove home the tying and winning runs.
