MOUNT OLIVE -- Ebony Green scored 15 of her career-high 21 points in the first half and Teneal Boone notched her 11th double-double of the season with 19 points and 13 rebounds to lead Mount Olive to a 75-54 victory over Queens in Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference women's basketball Saturday at Kornegay Arena. The win snaps the Trojans' five-game losing skid.

Saturday's game was part of Mount Olive's campus-wide celebration of National Girls and Women in Sport Day, which this year commemorates the 25th anniversary of NCAA Women's Sports Championships.

Mount Olive (11-11 overall, 6-9 CVAC) scored on five of its first six possessions and raced out to a 19-8 lead with 13:49 left in the first half. Boone and Green combined for 15 of the Trojans' first 19 points. Queens (3-19, 2-13) pulled within three as Shakema Etheridge scored six points during an 8-0 run. But Mount Olive built the lead back to double digits as Meaghan Vanderhorst hit a 3-pointer and Green scored six consecutive Trojan points.

The Trojans built the lead to as many as 14 points in the first half as Vanderhorst's second 3-pointer of the half made the score 39-25 with 2:23 remaining. Queens sandwiched three-pointers by Carmelita Jimenez and Phylicia Turner around a Trojan three by Tomeka Prichard in the final two minutes and Mount Olive went into halftime with a 42-31 lead. Prichard's basket extended her streak to 10 consecutive games with at least one 3-pointer.

Queens cut the lead to nine early in the second half, but Boone's layup with 17:30 remaining gave Mount Olive a 46-35 lead and the Trojans led by double figures the rest of the way. Mount Olive led by as many as 22 points in the second half.

Prichard and Vanderhorst finished with eight points apiece for Mount Olive, while Green came within one rebound of notching her first collegiate double-double. Green, who scored 15 points in the Trojans' first meeting against Queens in November, was 10-for-15 from the field Saturday. Anita Rogers dished out a game-high five assists for the Trojans.

Turner, who scored 31 points earlier in the week against Anderson, led Queens with 18 points. Jimenez added 12 points and Etheridge finished with 10 points.

Mount Olive returns to action Monday as the Trojans play host to Coker in a CVAC matchup. Tipoff is 5:30 p.m. at Kornegay Arena. Queens travels to Banner Elk on Monday at 5:30 p.m. to take on Lees-McRae in CVAC action.
