Conquerors improve to 19-1
KINSTON -- Faith Christian improved to 19-1 on the season with a 60-44 win over Bethel Christian of Kinston on Monday.
T.J. Sasser scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Conquerors, who outscored the Trojans, 23-14 in the fourth quarter to pull away. Aaron Sladick added 17 points for Faith, while John Spencer chipped in 12 points.
Josh Gates paced Bethel (9-9) with 11 points.
The Conquerors travel to Trinity-Greenville today.

Faith suffers
road loss
KINSTON -- Faith Christian's Elizabeth Clarke finished with 11 points as the Conquerors fell 45-27 at Bethel Christian of Kinston on Monday.
Faith fell to 9-10 overall, while the Trojans improved to 9-10.
Brittany Jones finished with a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds to pace Bethel.
On Friday, Gateway (Va.) defeated Faith, 19-18 at home.
Alyssa Hill finished with eight points, seven rebounds and six steals for Faith, while Elizabeth Clarke and Amie Hill had eight rebounds each.
The Conquerors take on Trinity-Greenville on the road today.
Rebels fall
to Panthers
KENLY -- North Duplin's Sierra Ward dropped in a game-high 23 points in the Rebels' 51-41 loss at North Johnston on Friday.
North Duplin (5-7 overall) slipped to 1-5 in Class 1-A Carolina Conference play, while the Panthers (11-4) improved to 5-1 against league foes.
Lauren Blackmore added 12 points for North Duplin, which travels to Princeton today.
Shanice Williams led North Johnston with 13 points as Stephanie Norris contributed 10 points.
The Panthers host conference-unbeaten Rosewood today.
JV boys
Cougars rally
past F. Central
Kevonta McDuffie led three players in double figures with 20 points and converted a key three-point play in Goldsboro's come-from-behind 60-57 victory over Farmville Central on Monday afternoon.
McDuffie's traditional three-point play off Jamal Rouse's assist helped erased a nine-point deficit late in the fourth quarter. McDuffie later blocked a shot and scored off another Rouse assist to prevent the Jaguars from claiming their third Eastern Plains 2-A Conference win of the season.
McDuffie also pulled down eight rebounds.
Jameson Wellington provided 14 points and five rebounds. Tavon Murchison dished out six assists and collected 11 points. Iveon Sprangle contributed seven points and four steals.
William Price and Nick Adams emerged the Jaguars' top scorers with 19 and 17 points, respectively.
Goldsboro (10-6) entertains Greene Central today.

KINSTON -- Faith Christian's Austin Webber tallied 18 points in the Conquerors' 35-31 win at Bethel Christian on Monday.
Faith improved to 12-3, heading into today's game at Trinity-Greenville.

FARMVILLE -- Goldsboro's LaQuita Holmes and Kierra Rogers posted 10 points each as the Lady Cougars suffered a 56-27 loss at home on Monday to Farmville Central.
Alexis Blow paced the Lady Jaguars with 20 points, while Gecora Brown dropped in 19 points.
Goldsboro (3-14 overall) fell to 0-5 in the Class 2-A Eastern Plains Conference.
Middle schools
Greenwood boys 53, Rosewood 51 -- Danny Smith led Greenwood with 23 points, while teammate Rasheed Williams chipped in 19 points. In their season finales, Greenwood (4-9, 2-6) travels to Dillard on Thursday, while Rosewood travels to Norwayne.
Eastern Wayne boys 59, Norwayne 42 -- Eastern Wayne's Hassan Best tallied 20 points, while Jacar Kelly contributed 12 points and Will White added 10 points and 14 rebounds. Landon Case contributed nine assists as Lamar Best contributed nine points and five steals for the Warriors (13-0, 7-0), who will look to finish off their second-straight undefeated season on Thursday at home against Brogden. Tyler Ruffin and Connor Narron led Norwayne with 14 and 10 points, respectively. Norwayne (10-3, 4-3) hosts Rosewood on Thursday in the season finale for both teams.
Norwayne girls 27, Eastern Wayne 24 -- Beth Carter paced Norwayne with 13 points, while Ashley Steinberg contributed eight points. Terria Smith had six points for Eastern Wayne. In their season finales, Norwayne (11-2, 5-2) hosts Rosewood on Thursday, while Eastern Wayne (8-5, 4-3) takes on Brogden.
Greenwood girls 52, Rosewood 10 -- Danielle Daniel scored 11 points to lead Greenwood (13-0, 8-0), while teammate Tia Jones chipped in 10 points and six rebounds. Taylor Johnston had four points for Rosewood. In their season finales, Greenwood travels to Dillard on Thursday, while Rosewood travels to Norwayne.
Goldsboro girls def. Grantham -- Zeara McDuffie led Goldsboro with 21 points, while Lakiyah Campbell contributed eight points. In their season finales, Goldsboro (9-4, 7-0) travels to at Mount Olive on Thursday as Grantham travels to Spring Creek. No score was reported on Monday's game.
