Wayne Country Day School topples Faith Christian-Rocky Mount
Wayne Country Day put four in double figures in a 85-49 win over Faith Christian-Rocky Mount in Coastal Plains Independent 1-A/2-A Conference play on Monday at home.
The win improves WCDS (16-6 overall) to 4-0 in the CPIC heading into today's game at home with Greenfield, also unbeaten in league play.
Adam Wright paced the Chargers with 18 points, eight rebounds and six assists, while Tavon Waters posted a double-double with 10 points and 14 assists. Lamar Carpenter added 12 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter, as teammate Kyle Pender contributed 10 points.
Robby Watson led Faith with 17 points.
Faith improves
to 16-1
Faith Christian's T.J. Sasser and Josh Brannan scored 12 points each as the Conquerors claimed a 70-37 win at home over Liberty-Fayetteville on Monday.
The win improves Faith to 16-1 overall heading into today's contest at Berean-Fayetteville.
The Conquerors raced out to a 25-5 lead after the first quarter, before leading 35-13 at halftime.

Wayne Country Day's Kameron Byrd pumped in 33 points to lead the Chargers in a 76-40 win at home over Faith Christian-Rocky Mount on Monday.
David Wilson posted a triple-double with 13 points, 10 rebounds and 10 steals for WCDS, while Paughn Eason dropped in 11 points. Tyler Pate dished out 10 assists for the Chargers, who improved to 11-4 overall and 6-0 in the Coastal Plans Independent 1-A/2-A Conference.
WCDS hosts Greenfield today.
Conquerors top
Liberty-Fayetteville
Faith's Austin Webber tallied 14 points as the Conquerors dropped Liberty-Fayetteville, 37-25, on Monday at home.
Faith improved to 8-3 overall and travels to Berean-Fayetteville today.

WCDS suffers
home loss
Wayne Country Day's Molly Peacock turned in a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds in the Chargers, 43-27, loss at home to Faith Christian-Rocky Mount on Monday.
Ashley Clark added seven points for WCDS (4-11 overall), which fell to 1-3 in Coastal Plains Independent 1-A/2-A Conference play.
Mary Watson led Faith with 13 points.
The WCDS girls travel to Faith-Rocky Mount for a rematch on Friday.
Middle schools
Norwayne 43 boys, Greenwood 26 -- Tyheim Pitt led the Cobras with 17 points, while Connor Narron chipped in 11 points. Matthew Houston had 10 points for Greenwood. Norwayne (9-2, 4-2) hosts Dillard on Thursday, while Greenwood entertains Spring Creek.
WCDS boys 38, Faith-RM 35 -- Tanner Pate finished with 10 points to pace WCDS (9-3, 4-0), while Cameron Ford and Kirby Hood added seven points each. The Chargers host Greenfield today.
Dillard boys 60, Grantham 9 -- Dillard's Terry Moore paced his team with 15 points, while Joshua Dorch and Braddock Gross had 11 points each. Dillard (10-1, 7-0) travels to Norwayne on Thursday, while Grantham travels to Brogden.
Grantham girls 36, Dillard 23 -- Grantham's Tina Glaspie scored 19 to lead all scorers, while teammate Kayla Powell added 10 points and nine blocks. Brittany Pate picked up nine steals for Grantham (5-6, 4-2). Akeyanne Whetlor led Dillard with 17. Grantham travels to Brogden on Thursday, while Dillard travels to Norwayne.
Greenwood girls 35, Norwayne 27 -- Sharmori Worrells had a team-high 10 points, while teammate Tiarra McIntyre added nine points for Greenwood (11-0, 7-0). Courtney Sheeks led the Cobras with nine points. Greenwood hosts Spring Creek on Thursday, while Norwayne entertains Dillard.
Goldsboro girls 54, Eastern Wayne 42 -- Zeara McDuffie led Goldsboro with 28 points. Goldsboro (7-4, 7-0) travels to Rosewood on Thursday, while Eastern Wayne hosts Mount Olive.
