SEVEN SPRINGS -- Spring Creek's Dalreese Bell finished with 22 points, six steals and five assists as the Gators had five players with at least eight points in a 68-57 win at home over Union.

Cliff Wilson added 17 points, six steals and six rebounds, while Desmund Raeford notched 11 points and 10 boards. Daniel Chewning and Carsheme Ruffin contributed nine and eight points, respectively.

"Josh Wright, Cliff Wilson and Dalreese Bell also played good on the defensive end. Good team play led to the win," Spring Creek coach Sonny Kilpatrick said.

David Hickmond (14 points), Dusty Weeks (12 points) and Zack Honeycutt (11 points) led Union.

Spring Creek (4-1) travels to South Lenoir today.

Fike slips past C.B. Aycock

PIKEVILLE -- Charles B. Aycock's Santavin Poole posted 14 points in the Golden Falcons' 59-54 loss at home to Wilson Fike on Tuesday.

Rob Phillips and Tim Alston added 13 points each for the Falcons (1-5), who shot just 12-for-25 from the free-throw line.

"When you miss more than you make, the scoreboard usually doesn't look very good."

Fike was led by King Farmer and Jonathan Foster, who notched 19 points each, while Jeremy Atkinson added 12 points.

Aycock hopes to have injured starter Lamada Williams back for Friday's contest against Goldsboro.

The Falcons host Northern Nash tonight.

RHS suffers home loss

Rosewood's Kyle Bunn scored 16 points as the Eagles fell to Lakewood 61-55 at home on Tuesday.

The Eagles (0-3) also got solid efforts from Clarence Toran and Holt Raines, who contributed 15 points each.

Willie Williams led Lakewood with 15 points.

"I thought we played better defensively tonight, but we had some periods where we didn't take care of the ball and they were able to stretch their lead," Rosewood coach Daniel Mitchell said.

The Eagles entertain Farmville Central at home on Thursday.

Eagles remain unbeaten

Rosewood improved to 3-0 with a 60-19 win at home over Lakewood on Tuesday.

The Eagles' Clare Narron dropped in a team-best 14 points, while Kasey Grey added 13 and Stephanie Rhodes contributed 12.

Rosewood jumped out to a 16-0 lead after the first period and led 28-6 at halftime.

Lindsey Benton paced Lakewood with eight points.

The Eagles host former Class 1-A Carolina Conference rival, Farmville Central, on Thursday.

Falcons suffer OT loss

PIKEVILLE -- For the second straight game, Charles B. Aycock found itself on the losing end of an overtime contest as Wilson Fike topped the Golden Falcons 76-68 on Tuesday.

The game stood tied at 56-56 after regulation, before the Golden Demons posted 20 points in the four-minute overtime period to claim the win.

Aycock's Emily Stewart led her team with a season-best 18 points, while Quaneisha Milner added 17 points. Jasmine Dobbins and Jazzmine Lee also reached double figures for the Falcons with 15 and 12 points, respectively.

Aycock (3-3) hosts Northern Nash today.

Billups paces SCHS in loss

SEVEN SPRINGS -- Spring Creek's Brittani Billups led the Lady Gators with 15 points, 11 rebounds and seven blocks in a 59-51 loss at home to Union on Tuesday.

Shaquita Brooks added 10 points for Spring Creek (1-4), while Anna Potter posted 10 points and Tomeka Pride had eight points and eight rebounds.

"We fell like we played the best team ball tonight. We just can't wait until the end to fight back," Spring Creek coach Mandy Ramjford said.

The Gators travel to Deep Run to face South Lenoir today.

PRINCETON -- Eastern Wayne emerged with pins in five weight classes on its way to a 49-24 win at Princeton on Tuesday.

Joey Burridge (152 pounds), Travis Turner (171), Brack Duvall (130), A.J. Washington (135) and Detori Mitchell (140) each claimed a pin for the Warriors, who improved to 3-1 in dual-team competition.

Meanwhile, Brian Lincoln (160) and Brandon Johnson (215) won by decision.

Tyler Wicks (189) and Jordan Harris (112) won by forfeit.

Princeton's Zach Stevens (145), Jonathan Hartley (275), Brandon Baker (219) and Matt Wilkins (125) won by pins for the Bulldogs.

Goldsboro's Jamal Rouse led five players in double figures with 18 points as the Cougars improved to 3-1 with a 71-60 win at Eastern Wayne on Tuesday.

Jamison Wellington added 16 points for Goldsboro, Kevonta McDuffie posted 12 points. Tavon Murcheson and Leonard Compton contributed 10 points each for the Cougars, who shot 27-of-43 from the floor.

Eastern Wayne's Dwight Ulmer scored 14 points as teammate Darian Cahill had 12.

Goldsboro hosts Charles B. Aycock on Friday, while Eastern Wayne entertains North Lenoir.

WCDS falls to Parrott

Wayne Country Day's Kameron Byrd led the Chargers in a 52-48 loss to Parrott Academy at home on Tuesday.

Tyler Pate added 11 points for WCDS (4-2), while David Wilson chipped in seven points.

The Chargers host Oakwood on Thursday.

Leopards edge Rosewood

Rosewood's Joey Boyette had a team-best 16 points in the Eagles' 53-50 loss at home to Lakewood on Tuesday.

Tyler Muntz added 12 points for Rosewood (0-3), which hosts Farmville Central on Thursday.

Marcus Graham led Lakewood with 18 points.

Williams leads CBA in loss

PIKEVILLE -- Charles B. Aycock's Jonathan Williams scored 16 points as the Falcons fell 51-39 at home to Wilson Fike on Tuesday.

Antwan Hagins added 10 points for Aycock (1-5).

Joshua Foster paced the Golden Demons with 10 points.

Eastern Wayne defeated Goldsboro 42-27 at the Cougar Den on Tuesday.

LaQuita Holmes led Goldsboro (0-5) with 12 points.
