Lady Trojans 3-0 heading into CVAC opener

Last year, the Mount Olive women's basketball team held the distinction of being the lone remaining unbeaten team in Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference play. With conference play opening tonight, the Trojans are already the only team in the CVAC without a loss.
Mount Olive plays its Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference opener tonight as the Trojans travel to Charlotte to take on Queens in women's basketball action. Tip-off is 5:30 p.m.
Mount Olive (3-0) is coming off a dramatic 66-65 win at home last Tuesday against Virginia State. A pair of freshmen helped spark the Trojans as Alisa Jones scored a game-high 17 points off the bench and Tomeka Prichard hit the game-winning basket with 6.3 seconds left in the game.
Senior forward Teneal Boone is the Trojans' top scorer and rebounder, averaging 15.0 points and 9.3 boards per game. She scored a career-high 26 points to go with 12 rebounds in Mount Olive's 66-62 win at USC-Aiken on Nov. 19. She also pulled down 10 boards against Virginia State.
Sophomore point guard Keona Corley, who matched her school record with 11 assists against Virginia State, is averaging 6.0 assists per contest. Senior guard Anita Rogers and junior forward Ebony Green are averaging 9.3 points per game.
Queens (0-1) is playing its first game in two weeks. The Royals opened the season on Nov. 15 with a 78-59 loss to Winston-Salem State.
Mount Olive and Queens split their two meetings last season, each team winning on its home court.
