Wayne Country Day's Adam Wright dropped in 28 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and dished out four assists in the Chargers' 83-61 loss to Word of God-Raleigh on Monday night at home.

Tavon Waters contributed 11 points and eight assists for WCDS (2-1), while Cameron Strickland posted 12 points.

Charles Baken led Word of God with 18 points.

The Chargers return to action today at Flora McDonald in Red Springs.

Wayne Country Day's Tiara Broadie turned in a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds as the Chargers slipped to 1-3 on the season after a 40-29 loss to Word of God-Raleigh on Monday.

Molly Peacock added six points and nine rebounds for the Chargers, who travel to Flora McDonald today.

Amber Johnson (12 points), Jazmine Wilson (12 points) and Tammy Devege (10 points) paced Word of God.

Martell's free throw

boosts Chargers

Wayne Country Day's Kevin Martell knocked down a free throw with three seconds left to help give the Chargers a 64-63 win at home over Word of God-Raleigh on Monday.

Martell finished wtih 11 points for WCDS, which improved to 4-0 on the season. Kameron Byrd led the Chargers with 23 points, while Tyler Pate chipped in 11.

WCDS returns to action at Terra Ceia in Tarboro on Nov. 29.

Rams top CBA

in overtime

PIKEVILLE -- Jordan Pendleton scored 16 points for Charles B. Aycock in the Golden Falcons' 56-54 loss in overtime to Greene Central on Monday.

Jordan Yawn added 12 points for Aycock, while Jonathan Williams posted 10.

Greene Central's Marcus Lee led all scorers with 23 points.

The Falcons (1-2) host North Lenoir on Nov. 29.

Fike slips

past Warriors

Eastern Wayne's Jenieri Cyrus finished with 15 points as the Warriors suffered a 63-59 loss at home to Wilson Fike last Friday.

The Warriors fell to 1-1 overall heading into today's game at South Central in Winterville.

Darian Cahill added 14 points for Eastern Wayne.

Fike's Bobby Bynum led all scorers with 18 points.

Eagles post

home win

Wayne Christian's Hanna Kaler contributed 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Eagles in a 25-20 win at home over Arendell Parrott Academy of Kinston on Monday.

Shelle Anderson added 11 points and eight rebounds for Wayne Christian, which improved to 3-0 overall.
