Lady Falcons improve to 3-0 with win versus Greene Central

PIKEVILLE -- Charles B. Aycock and Greene Central split a pair of varsity contests on Monday night in the Golden Falcons' gymnasium.
Aycock's girls ran their record to 3-0 on the season, defeating the Rams for the second time this season, with a 53-34 win.
The Lady Falcons took command with a convincing first half, forging a 27-10 lead.
Aycock (3-0) was balanced offensively with Emily Stewart and Jasmine Dobbin posting 13 and 12 points, respectively. Quaneisha Milner and Jazzmine Lee contributed eight points each for Aycock with Milner dishing out six assits and swiping six steals. Erin Medford grabbed eight rebounds and reached double-digits in rebounds for the third time this season.
Greene Central was paced by Shennika King with 14 points and Briana Stanton with 13.
Aycock finished with 14 steals overall.
In the boys game, Greene Central's Travion Travis scored a team-best 24 points as the Rams avenged an opening-game loss to Aycock with a 73-65 win at the Falcons' gymnasium.
The Golden Falcons' Lamada Williams scored a game-high 26 points, while Rob Phillips contributed 25 points, five rebounds and four assists.
Dreyan Willis and Charles Gamble notched 12 points each for the Rams.
Aycock (1-2) returns to action on Nov. 29 at home against North Lenoir. Greene Central hosts Kinston tonight.
