PRINCETON -- Princeton's Ryan Daughtry dropped in 17 points in the Bulldogs' 50-38 season-opening loss at home to Raleigh Charter on Wednesday
Raleigh Charter's Noel Hoxie led all scorers with 19 points, while teammate Casey Hester added 15 points.
The Bulldogs trailed 10-9 after the first period but managed just two points in the second period to trail 26-11 at the break. Princeton shot 7-25 at the free throw line.
Princeton (0-1) returns to action at Cape Fear Christian in Erwin on Tuesday.

Wayne Christian's Colton Woods and Eric Williams scored 21 points each as the Eagles defeated Albemarle Christian 57-23 at home on Tuesday.
Williams pulled down 12 rebounds for Wayne Christian (1-1), which hosts Parrott Academy on Monday.
Ty Gower paced Albemarle Christian with 15 points.

Princeton defeated Goldsboro 30-21 in non-conference action recently as the Bulldogs improved to 1-0 on the season.
The Cougars (0-1) face Charles B. Aycock on Friday.

Faye Franklin won play of the day, while Linda Cannon took low gross, Pete Reaves took low net and Betty Holloway won low putts.
In Eastern League play at Lane Tree Golf Course, Zambelli claimed low gross in the first flight, while Franklin won low putts in the second flight.
