Princeton (0-10) at Rosewood (1-8)

The season-ending Class 1-A Carolina Conference matchup pits two teams attempting to end losing streaks, and one hoping to climb into the playoff mix. Each team enters 0-4 in league play. The Eagles have lost four straight, while the Bulldogs have endured 19 consecutive defeats, including 11 against conference opposition.

North Duplin (3-6) at Spring Creek (5-5)

SEVEN SPRINGS -- The playoff-bound Gators could be contending for that 8-9 game in the playoffs, while the Rebels need that "magical" fourth win to help their postseason chances. The contest features two quarterbacks who mix the pass and run well. North Duplin's Doug Lloyd has accounted for 1,425 yards rushing and passing. Spring Creek's Josh Wright has accumulated 821 total yards rushing and passing.

Kinston (0-10) at Eastern Wayne (4-5-1)

The Eastern Carolina 3-A rivals bring 0-4 league worksheets into Friday's battle at Little Big Horn. Like several teams in the News-Argus area, the Warriors also need a victory to keep themselves in the playoff hunt. Kinston has talent, but its defense allows 32.8 points per game. Eastern Wayne averages 19.2 ppg and yields 22.9.

Wallace-Rose Hill (10-0) at James Kenan (8-2)

WARSAW -- For the second straight year, the teams meet with the Super Six 1-A title on the line. The Bulldogs defeated the Tigers 63-0 a year ago at Thell B. Overman Field. Wallace-Rose Hill, ranked No. 2 in the Associated Press 1-A prep poll, has won the last five games in the series.

North Lenoir (4-6) at Greene Central (6-4)

SNOW HILL -- Despite a disappointing effort at Goldsboro last Friday, North Lenoir can still grab a share of the Eastern Plains 2-A crown at archrival Greene Central. The Rams are 4-0 and in the playoffs, while the Hawks are hoping to avoid a three-way tie for second place.

Goldsboro (3-7) at North Pitt (2-8)

BETHEL -- The Cougars crept closer to the playoffs with a strong defensive effort against North Lenoir last week. The Panthers have produced some points this season, but haven't been able to get that first EPC victory. If Goldsboro wins, it could wind up in a three-way tie for second place.
