SWHS Booster Club meeting

The Southern Wayne Booster Club meeting has been rescheduled for today at 7 p.m. at the school. Parents of all athletes are encouraged to attend.

PHS Booster Club meeting

The Princeton High School Booster Club will meet today at 7:30 p.m. at the school.

Feast of the East tennis tourney

There will be a one-day tennis tournament at Herman Park, in conjunction with the Feast of the East, at Herman Park on Oct. 29. There will be singles for juniors ages 10-16 and adults at the A and B Level. The entry fee is $20 and trophies will be awarded to all finalists. SCYA basketball registration

Spring Creek Youth Association basketball registration for grades K-8 will be on Saturday Oct. 15, 22 and 29 at the Spring Creek Elementary School baseball field from 10 a.m.-noon. No sign-ups will be allowed after Nov. 1 and cost is $35 for members and $45 for non-members. For more information, contact Lynwood Barnett at (252) 566-5175.

RYSA basketball registration

Rosewood Youth Sports Association will be taking basketball registration starting Saturday with three more registration dates on Oct. 22, Oct. 29 and Nov. 5 at the sports complex behind Rosewood Elementary School. MOC softball clinics

Mount Olive College softball coach, Jaime Kylis Higginbotham, is holding two, one-day clinics on Nov. 5 and 6 at Nancy Chapman Cassell Field. Camp time on Nov. 5 is from 1-6 p.m., while Nov. 6 camp time is 1-5 p.m. Concentration will be placed on establishing basic skills such as throwing, hitting, base running, defensive and offensive strategies. Kylis will be accompanied by her assistant coach, Londa Kauffman as well as current players for the 2005-2006 Lady Trojan Softball Team. All athletes should wear comfortable clothing for softball, as well as bring their own personal gear such as a glove, bats, water bottle and anything else they should need to practice. Athletes should also bring appropriate footwear for indoor activities in case of bad weather. The cost of the day clinics are $30. A variety of awards will be given at the conclusion of the clinic. Goldsboro Parks and Rec adult basketball

There will be an organizational meeting for the Industrial Basketball League on Nov. 10 at the Herman Park Center on East Ash Street at 6 p.m. For more information, contact Jeffrey Winbush at 739-7488.

Fall Brawl at Mar Mac

Minor league, major league and 13-14-year-old baseball tournaments are scheduled for Nov. 4-13 at Mar Mac Community Ballpark.

* Minor -- The tournament runs from Nov. 4-6 and the entry fee is $200 per team. A coach's meeting is scheduled for Nov. 2 at 7 p.m.

* Major -- The tournament kicks off Nov. 11 and concludes Nov. 13. The entry fee is $200 per team and the coach's meeting is slated for Nov. 9 at 7 p.m.

* 13-14 -- The week-long tournament starts Nov. 5 and ends Nov. 13. the entry fee is $250 per team and the coach's meeting is Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. Games will be played on Saturday and Sunday.

Cash prizes will be awarded on the last day of tournament play. The winner receives 60 percent of the total, while the runner-up gets 30 percent. A lucky third-place winner will receive 10 percent. Admission is free for children ages 5-under, $1 for ages 6-11 and $5 for everyone 12 and older. For more information, telephone Joe Lancaster at 738-5664 or David Hamilton at 580-9670.

Mount Olive Parks and Rec

Registration has started for participation in the youth basketball league sponsored by the Mount Olive Parks and Recreation Department. The league is open for boys and girls ages 5-14. Registration forms are available at the parks and recreation department, the Mount Olive Boys & Girls Club, Mount Olive Middle and Carver Elementary. Goldsboro Parks and Rec youth basketball

The Goldsboro Parks and Recreation will begin accepting registration for boys and girls youth basketball Mon.-Fri. from Oct. 28-Dec. 29 between 8 a.m.-5 p.m. for ages 6-8 and 9-11.
