North Lenoir (1-3) at C.B. Aycock (3-2)

PIKEVILLE -- North Lenoir leads this series 16-11 and the teams are meeting for the first time since 2002 when Aycock prevailed by three touchdowns at Wheat Swamp. The Golden Falcons racked up an impressive victory last week against Wilson Fike, while the Hawks squandered a halftime lead against perennial Class 3-A powerhouse West Craven.

Southern Nash (2-2) at Southern Wayne (3-2)

DUDLEY -- Can anyone stop the Saints' rushing attack? Sophomore ... yes ... sophomore Anthony Council has accounted for 66 percent of his team's offense this season. He's flirting with the 1,000-yard mark and could easily surpass that point in the first half against the Firebirds. Southern Nash enters on the heels of a 14-0 loss against Wilson Hunt, a future Eastern Carolina Conference opponent for the Saints.

Rosewood (0-3) at Midway (2-2)

SPIVEY'S CORNER -- Rosewood allows 466.3 yards defensively per game and Midway's offense is geared around a two-pronged rushing attack with Edward McDuffie and Ryan Butler. The Eagles average a little more than two touchdowns per game offensively and are looking to snap a two-game losing streak on the road.

Holly Ridge Dixon (0-3) at Spring Creek (2-2)

SEVEN SPRINGS -- The Gators are celebrating their 25th anniversary of football this season and could set a school record for single-season, non-conference victories against Dixon on Friday night. The Bulldogs, of the Coastal Plains 1-A Conference have just 16 players on their roster. They managed just 15 yards total offense in a 40-0 loss five days ago against North Duplin.

James Kenan (2-2) at Greene Central (2-3)

SNOW HILL -- These two teams played back-to-back games in 1981 and 1982, and battled to a 1-1 split. The Rams are getting better week by week in their 3-5-3 defensive alignment, but they'll get a challenge this week against the Tigers' shotgun offense. James Kenan is riding a two-game win streak.

Princeton (0-5) at Hampstead Topsail (2-3)

TOPSAIL -- Princeton's offense receives consistent production from Decarius Scarboro and Johnny Phillips, and amasses more than 200 yards of total offense per outing. However, the Bulldogs are struggling to put points on the board. Opponents have outscored Princeton 54-24 in the first half and 34-0 in the third quarter this season.

North Duplin (1-2) at Hobbton (2-2)

NEWTON GROVE -- Anything can happen in this annual battle between the Duplin and Sampson County rivals. Montreal Garner collected his first 100-yard rushing game of the season against Dixon, but will face a tougher test against the Wildcats. Hobbton averages 26.7 points per game and yields about the same defensively.

Winston-Salem Carver (3-1) at Goldsboro (1-4)

A rare Saturday afternoon matchup features one of the state's top 3-A teams against a program struggling to regain its identity. Goldsboro has its good moments on offense, but can't seem to overcome mental and physical mistakes. The Cougars will need to minimize those miscues. They must find a way to get Jacob Sykes and Treme Boone more involved offensively in their final non-conference contest of the season.
