Wayne Christian netters now 5-0

Wayne Christian improved to 5-0 overall with a 9-0 sweep of Trinity Academy of Raleigh in a Class 1-A Carolina Christian Conference match contested Friday afternoon at Herman Park.
The Eagles got singles wins from Laura Lee Hodson, Mary West, Mary Ashleigh, Bianca Wall, Chris Hoeper, Catie Fairchild and Stacie McCary.
In doubles, the combinations of Hodson-West, Wall-Hoeper and Fairchild-McCary helped Wayne Christian finish off the sweep.

ROCKY MOUNT -- Charles B. Aycock rolled past Rocky Mount Senior High on the road 9-0 to stay unbeaten in seven outings.
Kara Kelly, Courtney Barnes, Mallory Strickland, Margaret Connelly, Lauren Pierce and Jessica Davis emerged with wins for Aycock in singles.
Barnes-Strickland, Kelly-Connelly and Pierce-Davis claimed wins in doubles.
Aycock travels to Greene Central next Tuesday.

Wayne Country Day's Ellen Elmore had eight digs, five assists and four kills in the Chargers' 26-24, 25-15, 25-19 loss at home against Kerr-Vance Academy in a Coastal Plains Independent 1-A/2-A Conference match.
Sammy Schurhammer and Ashley Clark had three digs and two kills each for Wayne Country Day (3-5, 1-3 CPIC).
