MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Mother nature made an appearance at Coastal Federal Field on Monday night in the top of the second inning, forcing the Myrtle Beach Pelicans and Kinston Indians to suspend play in the series opener.

Today at 5:30 p.m., the two teams will pick up where they left off, finishing Game 1 in its nine-inning entirety. Following the completion of Game 1 the Pelicans and Indians will play a seven-inning contest.

The hard rains poured down in the top of the second inning with the Indians on top 5-0. The K-Tribe had a runner at second base, center fielder Nathan Panther, with two outs and a 2-1 count on the hitter, first baseman Stephen Head. This afternoon, Panther will head back to second base, Head will step in the batter's box looking at a 2-1 count, and the score will read 5-0 in favor of Kinston, and play will resume.
