DUDLEY -- Wayne County's Walker Gourley and Nolan Lancaster provided the lone hits for Post 11 in a 5-1 loss at home to D.H. Conley on Wednesday at home.

Wayne County (6-10 overall) concluded division play at 5-7 and will face Northern Nash in a non-division game today.

The top four teams in the division advance to the postseason, and Post 11 seems to be on the outside of the picture. Lenoir County, D.H. Conley, South Central and Aycock appear to be the postseason qualifiers as divisional playoffs begin on Friday.

Sterling Grice started and went four innings, yielding two runs on seven hits with two strikeouts and one walk. None of Grice's runs allowed were earned. Taylor Sutton gave up three runs (one earned) on two hits with four strikeouts and four walks in three innings of work.

D.H. Conley's Michael Taylor and Will Reaves had two hits with one double each, while left-hander Kevin Perry picked up the win on the mound.

tops Snow Hill

SNOW HILL -- Snow Hill's Craven Taylor had two hits as Pitt County West claimed a 5-3 win at Greene Central High School on Wednesday.

Snow Hill (5-11 overall) concluded the season at 5-7 in division play.

14-U -- Wayne County defeated Garner 13-11 in first-round play Wednesday as Lauren Darden had two hits, including a triple. Autumn Pittman picked up the win on the mound in four innings of work. Pittman yielded five hits and struck out four. Jordan Hill, Ashley Singleton and Amber Baker had one hit each. Wayne County takes on host New Bern tonight at 7 p.m.

10-U -- Wayne County dropped Dare County 5-2 in first-round action in New Bern on Wednesday. Reagan Herndon and Ivy Hartzell had two hits each for Wayne County, while Madison Davis picked up the win in relief. Davis struck out nine in three innings of no-hit work. Misty Edwards started and went two innings. Hartzell pitched the final inning. Wayne County faced Johnston County today at 10 a.m.

16-U -- After advancing to the state tourney after a 5-2 win against Duplin County, Wayne County began state play on Wednesday at 9 p.m. at Creekside Park in New Bern. No results were available at press time.
