EDENTON -- Snow Hill's Hunter Chase had four hits, including two doubles, and four RBI as Post 94 banged out 20 hits in a 17-8 win at Edenton on Wednesday.

Snow Hill (2-0) posted three innings with four or more runs with a seven-run fourth to make it 11-3. Six Post 94 batters had at least two hits.

Jordan Scott finished with three hits and three RBI as Travis Rouse had three hits and drove in one. Matthew Whitley posted two hits, including a home run, and Blake Taylor and Lance Murray added two hits each.

Stephen Brown drove in five of Post 40's runs -- slugging two doubles.

Taylor started on the mound for Snow Hill as Rouse entered in the fifth and Jordy Davis closed the game in the ninth.

Weather permitting, Post 94 entertains Kinston tonight.

Aycock takes

season opener

PIKEVILLE -- Aycock's Thomas Pilkington had a double and three RBI to help boost the second-year Junior Legion program to a 9-6 win at home over Wilson on Wednesday in their season-opening contest.

Aycock took a 9-6 lead thanks to a four runs in the bottom of the fifth. The game was called due to rain after Wilson batted in the top of the sixth.

Jay Rose, Evan Medford and Will Edgerton each had a hit and drove in a run for Aycock (1-0).

Daniel Stancil got the win in 11/3 inning of relief work.

Aycock hosts Cary in a doubleheader, beginning at noon on Saturday.

Post 11's road contest

WINTERVILLE -- Wayne County's Nolan Lancaster had two hits, scored twice and added an RBI for the Post 11 Junior Legion team, which led South Central 10-3 after three innings before wet conditions halted play.

The game will be resumed on June 28 when Post 160 visits Wayne County.

Walker Gourley delivered a double and two RBI for Post 11, while Michael Mintz also doubled home a run. Garrett Barfield walked twice and scored three runs.

Taylor Sutton yielded three runs on five hits through the first three innings. Sutton pitched out of a bases loaded jam with no outs in the first.

Post 11 travels to Snow Hill on June 7.
