MOUNT OLIVE -- Mount Olive moved up five spots to No. 34 in this week's Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division II Men's Tennis National Rankings, the final ranking of the regular season. The Trojans are also ranked No. 10 in the Mid-Atlantic Regional rankings.

Mount Olive (16-10) posted a perfect 10-0 record in the NCAA Division II Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference, becoming the first Trojan athletics team in any sport to go unbeaten in CVAC play. Head coach Burt Lewis was named 2005 CVAC men's tennis coach of the year and three Trojans earned All-CVAC honors.

The Trojans finished fourth in the CVAC men's tennis tournament, falling to No. 4 seed Lees-McRae in the semifinal round and to No. 2 seed Barton in the third-place match.

Mount Olive is one of four CVAC teams ranked in the top 40, joining No. 24 Anderson, No. 31 Barton and No. 38 Lees-McRae.

The Trojans were hoping for an at-large bid to the Mid-Atlantic Regional of the 2005 NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Championships, but conference tournament champion Anderson, which received an automatic bid, was the only CVAC school to receive a berth in the regional.
