MOC women's losing streak continues

DUE WEST, S.C. - The Lady Fleet shot 44 percent from behind the 3-point arc and placed three players in double figures on their way to a 68-46 rout of Mount Olive Saturday afternoon in Belk Arena.
Mount Olive's Melanie Cobb scored on the first possession of the game, but Erskine's Lisa Jackson tied it up on the next possession with two free throws. The lead continued to change hands for the next six minutes, but Erskine took the lead for good at 9-8 on a bucket by Brittany Alexander with 13:25 on the clock.
The Fleet led by as many as 11 points in the first half, but left at the break with a nine-point advantage at 29-20.
Teneal Boone hit two free throws at the beginning of the next half to pull the Trojans within seven, but Anita Owens sank a 3-pointer seconds later to push Erskine's lead up to 10.
The Fleet led by as many as 25 in the second half at 66-41 with 1:51 remaining in the game.
Erskine's Lisa Jackson led all scorers with 18 points and eight rebounds. Owens and Stephanie Jenkins posted 13 apiece for the Fleet.
Latoria Harvey was the only player for Mount Olive to tally double figures with 13 points. Harvey also grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds.
The Fleet travel to Coker on Monday for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off and return home on Thursday when they will play host to Belmont Abbey. The Trojans visit Pfeiffer University on Monday. Tip-off is slated for 5:30.
