MOUNT OLIVE - Mount Olive College men's basketball team moved up three spots to No. 7 in this week's NCAA Division II East Region poll, which was released Wednesday afternoon.

The Trojans have won six of their last seven games since the first poll was released two weeks ago. Mount Olive is 12-2 overall, including an 8-2 mark against teams in the region. The Trojans' two losses came against No. 5 Pfeiffer and No. 6 West Virginia State.

Mount Olive is one of three Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference teams ranked among the region's top 10. Along with Mount Olive and Pfeiffer, Barton is No. 9 in this week's poll.

Indiana (Pa.) is ranked No. 1 for the second consecutive week as five teams from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference are ranked in the top 10. No. 2 Alderson-Broaddus joins West Virginia State from the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

The conference champions from the CVAC, PSAC and WVIAC earn bids to the NCAA II East Regional in March, along with the top five at-large teams.

The regional poll will be announced each Wednesday through March 2.

There was no regional poll last week due to the NCAA Convention.

Mount Olive continues play Saturday at CVAC foe Anderson (S.C.) College. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m.
