WILSON - Wayne Christian's Ashley Clark scored 12 points to help boost the Eagles to a 44-39 win over Community Christian of Wilson in Carolina Christian 1-A Conference play.
Katie Daniels and Brittany Sullivan added 11 points each for Wayne Christian (7-5, 3-3), while Brooke Norris grabbed nine rebounds.
Ashley Gregory led all scorers with 16 points for Community.
The Eagles return to action on Saturday against Flora-McDonald.

WILSON -- Wayne Christian's Antonio Simms scored 21 points in the Eagles' 59-49 win at Community Christian of Wilson on Tuesday.
The win improves the Eagles (6-4 overall) to 5-1 in the Carolina Christian 1-A Conference heading into Saturday's game with Flora-McDonald.
Daniel Chewning added 17 points for Wayne Christian, while John Maynard paced Community with 16 points.
Panthers' Lomonaco
scores 1,000th points
KENLY - North Johnston's Jake Lomonaco scored his 1000th point Tuesday in North Johnston's 47-44 win over Class 1-A Carolina Conference rival Rosewood.
Lomonaco scored 17 Tuesday and has 227 points this season for the Panthers (8-5, 3-1). He scored 376 as a junior, 289 as a sophomore, and 115 as a freshman.

Eagles fall
to Hobbton
NEWTON GROVE - Rosewood's Stephen McIntyre and Taylor Allen scored 11 points each as the Eagles dropped a 45-37, non-conference game at Hobbton on Wednesday.
Lamar Lee paced the Wildcats with a game-high 13 points.
On Tuesday, Rosewood's Dennis Jones dropped in 16 points in the Eagles' 55-38 home win over Class 1-A Carolina Conference foe North Johnston. The win improved Rosewood to 2-2 in conference play.
The Eagles (5-6 overall) travel to North Duplin on Friday.

stay unbeaten
Eastern Wayne's women's swim team remained undefeated -- winning first place in four of 11 events contested in a seven-team meet on Tuesday at the Goldsboro YMCA.
The Warriors finished with 123 team points, while South Central took second with 112 and Wilson Hunt finished third with 103. Swansboro (74), Charles B. Aycock (47), Kinston (25) and Southern Wayne (24) rounded out the team scoring.
The Warrior girls got first-place finishes from Hina New (100 backstroke) and Ashley Robinson (500 freestyle). New, Robinson, Denise Moulas and Rachael Stoneburner teamed to take first in the 200 medley relay, while teammates Misti Cork, Jordan Stevens, Esther Onstine and Regan Stoneburner took the 200 freestyle relay.
Aycock's Garrett Forrest won the 100 freestyle.
In the men's meet, Hunt finished first with 104, while Southern Wayne (85) and Aycock (80) claimed second and third, respectively.
South Central (61), Swansboro (60), Kinston (43) and Eastern Wayne (14) also figured in the team scoring.
The Falcons got two first place finishes in the boys meet by Calvin Leroy -- winning the 200 intermediate and 500 freestyle.
Southern Wayne claimed second in all three relays.
