Lomonaco, Panthers upend Jaguars
KENLY -- North Johnston's Jake Lomonaco scored 19 points to help boost the Panthers to a 63-50 victory over Farmville Central on Tuesday.
The win improves the Panthers to 7-4 overall and 2-0 in the Class 1-A Carolina Conference.
Brandon Sanders added 17 points for Farmville, while Willie Smith contributed 12 points.
Michael Flowers paced the Jaguars with 19 points.
North Johnston travels to rival Princeton on Friday.

Cougars fall to unbeaten Kinston
Goldsboro's Bernie Best scored 16 points and grabbed five rebounds as the Cougars suffered a 72-55 loss at home to Kinston on Tuesday.
Treme Boone provided 15 points and had eight rebounds for Goldsboro (8-4, 4-3 Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference). Anthony Artis added 10 points and four assists for the Cougars, who travel to Southern Wayne on Friday.
Kinston's junior varsity improved to 10-0 on the season.
Falcons suffer road loss
WINTERVILLE -- Charles B. Aycock's Dontay Taylor scored 17 points in a 67-59 loss at South Central at home on Tuesday.
Evan Medford added 15 points for the Falcons (6-5, 3-3 Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference).
Aycock hosts Eastern Wayne on Friday.
Ninth grade boys
KINSTON -- Goldsboro's A.J. Holloway recorded 20 points, leading four Cougars in double-figures in a 68-55 win over Kinston on Tuesday.
T.J. Kornegay provided 14 points for Goldsboro (7-0, 3-0 ECC), while teammates Eric Sinclair and A.J. Fowler added 11 points each.
The Cougars host Southern Wayne on Friday.
Girls
Moore paces Panthers to win
KENLY -- North Johnston's Helen Moore scored 27 points and pulled down eight rebounds as the Panthers handed Farmville Central a 61-59 loss at home on Tuesday.
Lakisha McFadden added 14 points for the Panthers (7-4, 2-0 Class 1-A Carolina Conference).
Megan Zullo scored 21 points for Farmville Central, while Meaghan Vanderhorst posted 13.
The Panthers travel to Princeton on Friday.

Wayne Christian drops Northwood
Wayne Christian's Brittany Sullivan scored 19 points to lead the Eagles to a 33-12 win on Tuesday night at home against Northwood Temple Academy of Fayetteville.
Wayne Christian travels to Community Christian of Wilson on Jan. 11.
