PANTEGO -- Wayne Country Day's Adam Wright posted a game-best 27 points as the Chargers rolled past Terra Ceia 94-54 on the road Thursday.

The 94 points marked the third time in seven outings the Chargers (6-1) have scored 90 or more points.

Spenser Briggs contributed 19 points for Wayne Country Day, while Jeff Franklin dropped in 14 and Phillip Weeks added 13.

The Chargers continue play on Monday at home against Trinity Christian of Greenville.

PANTEGO -- Wayne Country Day's Tiara Brody scored a team-high 13 points to help the Chargers hold off Terra Ceia 37-36 on Thursday.

The Chargers improved to 5-3 overall heading into Monday's game with Trinity Christian of Greenville at home.

Kristin Grubb added 10 points for Wayne Country Day.

Cougars balanced

in home win

Goldsboro's Anthony Artis scored 25 points as the Cougars dropped North Lenoir 73-54 on Thursday at the Cougar Den.

Antonio Green and Q.T. Battle had 12 points each for Goldsboro (4-2), while Treme Boone added 11 points.

The Cougars travel to West Carteret today in a Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference game.

PANTEGO -- Wayne Country Day's Lamar Carpenter and Cameron Strickland scored 13 points each as the Chargers claimed a 65-24 road win at Terra Ceia on Thursday.

Shadoe Stewart scored 10 points, while Bryan Brock grabbed 14 rebounds. Travis Davis dished out eight assists for Wayne Country Day (3-2).

to Panthers

Charles B. Aycock's Blake Kearney scored 14 points in the Golden Falcons' 46-40 loss to East Duplin on Thursday.

Leonard Compton added 12 points for Aycock (2-3), which travels to Kinston on Friday.

Middle Schools

Dillard boys 47, Mount Olive 40 -- Antwone Folk scored 11 points for Dillard, while teammate Jonathan Williams added 10. Dillard (2-1 Division II) plays Greenwood next.

Eastern Wayne boys 67, Goldsboro 49 -- Stacey Edwards had 22 points and 14 rebounds for Eastern Wayne, while Darian Cahill added 16 points and six assists. Jenieri Cyrus provided 10 points for the Warriors (6-0, 2-0 Division I), who face Brogden on Monday at home.

Greenwood girls 54, Brogden 32 -- Greenwood's Danielle Daniels led the way with 22 points, while teammate Kiana Williams added four points. Brogden's Janisa Faison poured in 20 for her team. Greenwood travels to Dillard on Monday.
