WASHINGTON -- Eastern Wayne's Justin Richardson poured in 22 points as the Warriors claimed a 72-63 win at Washington on Friday night.

The win was Eastern Wayne's first of the season as it improved to 1-4 overall and 1-1 against Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference foes.

Chris Campbell added 21 points for the Warriors, while Adrian Kendrick chipped in nine points.

Calvin Daniels led all scorers with 26 points for the Pam Pack.

Eastern Wayne hosts West Carteret in ECC action on Tuesday.

at Parrott

KINSTON -- Wayne Country Day's Spencer Briggs scored a team-high 22 points to help lift the Chargers to a 66-51 win at Arrendell Parrott Academy in Kinston on Friday.

The win improved Wayne Country Day to 4-1 on the season, while Parrott fell to 3-2.

Adam Wright added 21 points for the Chargers, while Phillip Weeks chipped in nine.

Chris Shields led Parrott with 17 points.

Wayne Country Day returns to action on Tuesday at home against Waccamaw Academy.

DUDLEY -- Southern Wayne's Delawn Armwood and Akeem Royal tallied 14 points each as the Saints remained unbeaten in the Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference with a 65-60 win at home over South Central.

Montrel Vick added 10 points for Southern Wayne (3-2, 2-0), which outscored the Falcons 43-28 in the first half.

South Central's Montel Smith led all scorers with 25 points as Jonathan Williams added 15.

The Saints entertain Wayne County rival C.B. Aycock on Tuesday.

SEVEN SPRINGS -- Spring Creek's Josh Bishop scored a game-high 34 points as the Gators dropped Midway 81-56 at home on Friday.

Bishop was nine-of-11 from the floor on the game and knocked down five, three-point baskets.

Chris Wright, Dalreese Bell, Josh Wright and Mychael King all had eight points each in the win.

Bishop added six assists and five steals, while King grabbed seven rebounds.

Faith Christian's Stephen Sloan scored 24 points on Saturday as the Conquerors won the Faith Christian Invitational with a 57-44 win over Victory of Elizabeth City.

Josh Brannan added nine points.

On Friday, Aaron Sladik scored 14 points in a semifinal win over Liberty of Fayetteville.

Sloan was named the tourney MVP, while Brannan and Sloan were named to the all-tournament team.

Faith (7-0) travels to Raleigh Christian on friday night.

Goldsboro's Anthony Artis scored 18 points and dished out seven assists as the Cougars dropped West Craven 81-58 at the Cougar Den on Friday.

Golsboro's Bernie Best dropped in 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds, while Q.T. Battle scored 14 and had 10 boards.

Also contributing for the Cougars, Michael Isler provided 10 points and seven assists, and Treme Boone added nine points and 13 rebounds.

Goldsboro (2-2, 1-1 Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference) hosts Washington on Tuesday.

Eagles remain

Wayne Christian's Adam Brannan posted a game-high 15 points as the Eagles pounded Cape Far 63-19 at home on Friday.

Wayne Christian improved to 6-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play with the win.

Ethen Ipock and Matt Davis dropped in 10 points each for the Eagles, who travel to Norlina on Tuesday.
