SJAFB youth basketball
Registration for youth basketball at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base will be held from through Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. at the Youth Center, Building 4103, at 1035 Langley Avenue. Participation is limited to the dependents of active duty military, DOD civilian employees, and military or civilian retirees. Practice begins Dec. 13 and the league runs from Jan. 24 until March 18. Leagues will consist of Pee Wee (ages 6-8), Bantam (ages 9-10), Midget (ages 11-12), and Junior (ages 13-15) and ages will be determined as of March 30, 2005. Girls basketball teams will be offered if there is enough participants, but if not all teams will be co-ed. League age is subject to change depending on the number of players signing up in each league. Games will be played at the Seymour Johnson Youth Center, the Wayne County Boys and Girls Club and the Goldsboro Family YMCA. Fee is $35 and includes a team T-shirt with league name and player number. For more information call Warren Caruso at 722-0502.
Carolina Screamers fastpitch softball
A new traveling, fastpitch softball team based out of Princeton is being formed in the 14-under age group. The team will begin play in the Spring of 2005. Anyone interested may call Dale Wood at (919) 965-5014 for more information.
Boys and Girls Club youth basketball
The Wayne County Boys and Girls Club will hold registration for youth basketball through Dec. 17 at the Boys and Girls Club building on Royal Avenue. For more information call Jeff Barnes at 735-2358.
Dart league
The Goldsboro Dart League, a steel-tip dart league, is forming to start play January 10. League games will be Monday nights at 7 p.m. Form your own three-person team and sign up. The league is non-profit and has no affiliations.
