MOC's Jacobs named
to all-region soccer team
MOUNT OLIVE -- Mount Olive College women's soccer player April Jacobs has been named to the NSCAA All-Southeast Region Division II women's soccer third team.
Jacobs becomes the Trojans' first-ever women's soccer all-region selection, which was released by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
A freshman defender from Fayetteville, Jacobs earned all-Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference first team honors this season. She helped Mount Olive's defense limit opponents to an average of 0.57 goals per game and was also a force on the offensive end, scoring seven goals and 10 assists.
Mount Olive posted a 20-3 record this season and won its first-ever CVAC women's soccer championship. The Trojans set an NCAA Division II women's soccer record for the greatest one-year turnaround, improving by 14 1/2 games over last year.
