WENDELL -- Faith Christian's T.J. Sasser and Aaron Sladick scored 12 points each as the Conquerors defeated Tri-Cities (TN) 40-36 in the championship game of the Southeastern Invitational Tournament.

Stephen Sloan added 11 points for Faith (4-0), which faces Liberty Christian in Durham on Nov. 30.

In the first game of the tournament, the Counquerors won 59-26 over Hawthorn (S.C.). In the semifinals, Faith defeated Marantha (S.C.) 56-35.

fall to Wildcats

DUDLEY -- New Hanover's Jason Battle scored 26 points to lead the Wildcats to a 85-76 win over Southern Wayne at the Saints' gymnasium on Friday.

The Saints (1-1) are scheduled to face J.H. Rose in Greenville on Monday.

DUDLEY -- Southern Wayne's Dionne Dotson scored nine points, including two, three-pointers in a 60-41 loss to New Hanover on Friday.

Ebony Darden and Danielle Wilkins added eight points each for the Saints (1-1), who travel to Greenville Rose on Monday.

Eagles suffer

Wayne Christian's Brittany Sullivan posted 15 points as the junior varsity girls lost their first game at home Friday night 29-27 against Village Christian of Fayetteville.

The Eagles are 1-1 on the season and travel to face Faith-Rocky Mount on Monday.

Chargers roll

past Oakwood

Wayne Country Day's Virginia Best scored 19 points to lead the Charger girls to a 47-11 win over Oakwood.

Erin Taylor added eight points for Wayne Country Day (2-0), which hosts Terra Ceia on Tuesday.

Wayne Christian School's T.A. Brannan scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Eagles pounded Village Christian 67-33 on Friday.

Eric Williams added 11 points and seven steals. The Eagles (3-0) travel to Faith-Rocky Mount on Monday.

Goldsboro boys 63, Grantham 13 -- Tim Hobbs led the way for Goldsboro with 18 points. Goldsboro hosts Mount Olive on Monday.

Goldsboro girls 29, Grantham 28 -- Victoria Williams scored nine points for Goldsboro. Taylor Reaves led Grantham with 11 points. Goldsboro hosts Mount Olive on Monday.
