MOC Almuni Golf tournament

MOUNT OLIVE -- Mount Olive College's Alumni Homecoming Weekend begin Friday with the college's annual alumni golf tournament at Southern Wayne Country Club. Check in time will be at 11:30 a.m. and the superball tournament will begin with a shotgun start at noon.

There will be plenty of hot dogs and snacks throughout the afternoon, with door prizes, pizza and the awards presentation at the conclusion of the tournament.

The cost of the tournament is $48 per person and includes lunch and dinner. All proceeds from the tournament help fund the Alumni Endowed Scholarship Fund.

Alumni are invited to organize their own teams with former classmates and friends, or they can call to be placed on a team.

Walnut Creek Ladies Golf

Kathy Woodard took top honors in Tuesday's guess-your-score tournament. Jewel Ivey won low gross, while Novella Zamebelli had the low-net score. Faye Franklin won low putts.

In last week's Tuesday play, Dot Julian won the tournament, while Gay Bryant took low putts.

Several Walnut Creek ladies competed in the recent East Carolina League play held at Greenville Country Club. Zambelli won second low net in the championship flight.

Lane Tree Ladies Golf

For the week ending Nov. 14, Betty Jean Gurley won low net and low putts. Jelette Culbreth claimed game of the week.
