Chargers open season with blowout win
Wayne Country Day's Spenser Briggs scored 21 points to pace seven players in double figures as the Chargers cruised past the North Carolina School for the Deaf 133-45 on Monday.
Oscar Ball added 18 points for the Chargers (1-0), while Adam Wright and Phillip Weeks posted 16 points each. Kevin Logan notched 14 points as Jeff Franklin (12) and Brian Brock (11) also reached double figures.
"We've got some depth and their attitudes are great," Wayne Country Day coach Randy Tilley said. "They are excited about what they think they can do. They work as hard in practice as any group I've ever had. The skies the limit for this crowd."
The Chargers host Greenville Christian today.

Charger girls open top Hornets
Wayne Country Day's Tiara Brody scored a team-high 13 points as the Chargers rolled to a season-opening, 75-33 win over the North Carolina School for the Deaf on Monday.
Laura Ziemer added 12 points for WCDS (1-0), while Ellie Dubberly and Erin Taylor posted 10 points each.
The Chargers host Greenville Christian today.
