Mount Olive inks guard from Virginia

MOUNT OLIVE -- Mount Olive head men's basketball coach Bill Clingan has signed Justin Melton to a National Letter-of-Intent on announced Friday. Melton is the Trojans' first signee of the early signing period, which began this week.
Melton, a 5-foot-10 point guard from Yorktown, Va., averaged 18.1 points, 5.1 assists 4.8 rebounds and 3.2 steals per game last season at Tabb High School. He earned all-district honors, was a first team all-region selection and was named to the All-State third team as a junior.
"We are excited to welcome Justin to our Mount Olive College family," said Clingan. "He is a quality student-athlete and a great leader. He has the ability to make everyone around him better."
