SNOW HILL -- North Lenoir's Josh Williams tallied a natural hat trick (three straight goals) in the first half as the Hawks defeated Greene Central 3-0 on Wednesday.

The win improves the Hawks (12-5-2 overall) to 6-1-0 in the Class 2-A Eastern Plains Conference heading into their season finale at Tarboro today.

North Lenoir has clinched its third conference championship in the last four years. The Hawks will receive a first-round bye when the N.C. High School Athletic Association playoffs begin next week.

Greene Central (7-9-2 overall) concluded the season at 2-4-1 against conference foes.

Rosewood completes

sweep of Gators

Rosewood's Cameron Lowe scored his first goal of the season with 10 minutes left against Spring Creek as the Eagles topped their county rival 4-2 on Wednesday at Branch Pope Field.

Rosewood (11-10-1, 8-4 Class 1-A Carolina/Super-Six Conference) defeated Spring Creek for the second time this season and finished third in the conference. Spring Creek (4-12-0 overall) finished with a 3-9 conference mark -- good for fifth.

Spring Creek's Jed Potter got the scoring started in the eighth minute of the game, before Rosewood's Goss Kendall and Brandon Hietpas tallied one goal each to give their team a 2-1 lead before halftime. Hietpas added an assist on Kendall's goal. Jonathan Reyes dished out an assist on Potter's opening goal.

Joey Churchwell and Lowe posted goals in the second half for the Eagles. The Gators' Erick Minjivar tallied Spring Creek's final goal.

Antell Richards had six saves in goal for the Eagles, who travel to take on the Tar-Roanoke Conference's number two seed in the first round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association playoffs next week. Spring Creek travels to the Tar-Roanoke champion in the first round.

South Central

blanks Saints

DUDLEY -- South Central defeated Southern Wayne 2-0 at home in the season finale for both teams.

The win by the Falcons (5-12-1 overall) improves them to 3-8-1 against Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference. Southern Wayne (2-13 overall) concluded at 1-11 in the ECC.

The Saints had a handful of opportunities to score in a game that saw South Central score in the last five minutes of each half.

South Central will likely take the conference's fifth and final playoff spot into the N.C. High School Athletic Association playoffs.

Tigers finish

unbeaten in conference

NEWTON GROVE -- James Kenan scored four goals in the first half and rolled to a 4-0 win at Hobbton on Wednesday in its regular season finale.

The fifth-ranked Tigers (15-2-2) concluded the regular season with a 10-0-1 mark against Class 1-A Carolina/Super-Six Conference foes -- sealing the league title.

Kenan will host the Atlantic 7/Four Rivers Conference's No. 4 seed in the first round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association playoffs next week.

Hobbton (5-8-2) finished at 5-6-1 in conference play and is the fourth seed going into the playoffs.

Panthers blast

Farmville Central

KENLY -- North Johnston seniors Ashley Moore and Jake Lomonaco had a hat trick (three goals) each on Senior Night as the Panthers drilled Farmville Central 10-4 in the Class 1-A Carolina/Super-Six Conference season finale for both teams.

Miquel Rios added two goals for North Johnston, while Nelson Reyes and Will Holloman scored once each for the Panthers (18-3-2 overall), who finished second in conference play with a 10-1-1 mark.

Lomonaco also dished out three assists as he finished the regular season with a whopping, 46 goals and 13 assists. Moore added one assist for the Panthers.

Lomonaco, Moore, Reyes, Rios, Jay Pittman, Kyle Schullery, Ryan Fitzgerald, Marvin Molina and Corey Narron all played in their final regular season home game for the Panthers, who will host the Atlantic Seven/Four Rivers Conference No. 4 seed in the first round.
