WINTERVILLE -- Eastern Wayne's Will Collins turned in a course-record at Boyd Lee Park in the Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference Championship on Tuesday -- running a 16:47 and taking first as the Warriors won the boys meet with 26 team points.
Collins, Matt Interrante (16:58), Michael Lawrence (17:10) and Matt Vogt (17:50) all finished in the top-five for Eastern Wayne. The 17:50 was Vogt's best time of the season.
Michael Scott took sixth for Charles B. Aycock, who finished with 91 team points -- good for fourth-place overall.
In the girls meet, Charles B. Aycock's Kylie Justo took seventh place to help the Falcons to a third-place finish with 68 team points. Justo ran a 21:41.
Eastern Wayne's Brittany Ham (21:33) claimed fifth as the Warrior girls finished fourth with 79 points.
