Cross country -- Charger teams finish second at latest meet

MONTROSE -- Wayne Country Day and Wayne Christian's girls cross country teams finished in a second-place tie with 20 points each in a four-team meet at the Carolina Horse Park on Monday.
The Chargers were awarded second place due to having the fastest fourth-place runner -- Molly Peacock (28:47), who finished tenth overall.
Wayne Christian's Carrie McCall (24:02) and Jennifer Price (24:16) took second and third, respecively, while Wayne Country Day's Allie Mouw (25:31) and Virginia Best (26:00) finished in the fifth and sixth spots.
Anna Davis also finished in the top ten for the Chargers with a 28:29, good for ninth place.
The state meet is Friday at SAS Stadium in Cary.
