WINTERVILLE -- Charles B. Aycock's Garrett Davis scored the Golden Falcons' lone goal in a 2-1 loss at South Central on Monday.

Davis posted his 37th goal of the season off of a corner kick from Danny Derwitz with 1:46 left in the half.

Aycock (12-6, 6-4 Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference) outshot the home-standing Falcons 20-5 and had seven corner kicks to South Central's five.

"This was probably the poorest game we have played all season," Aycock coach Kevin Adkins said. "We were all over the goal, but we just couldn't put the ball in."

Aycock hosts West Carteret tonight at 6 p.m. in a make-up of a postponed game from two weeks ago.
