WINSTON SALEM -- Eastern Wayne's boys cross country team finished 12th overall in the Tanglewood Invitational's boys championship meet held Saturday in Winston Salem.
Will Collins emerged as the Warriors' top runner, finishing seventh overall with a 16:32.
Matt Interrante (17:22), Michael Lawrence (17:41), Justin Bernel (18:27), Steven Hendricks (19:43) and Drew Ziccardi (19:51) also participated in the meet for Eastern Wayne.
The Warrior girls finished 17th in the Invitational Division with Natalie Taylor emerging Eastern Wayne's top runner with a 23:09.
Leslie Lewis (24:14), Tara Lewis (27:49), Icela Vazquez (27:52), Rebecca Moulder (28:52) and Janeth Vargas (31:17) participated in the match for the Eastern Wayne girls.
The Warriors return to action today in a four-team, Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference meet today at Washington.
