FARMVILLE -- Rosewood's Joey Churchwell scored a career-high four goals and dished out one assist as the Eagles dropped Farmville Central 7-2 at the Jaguars' field on Wednesday.

Rosewood trailed 1-0 after nine minutes and led just 2-1 at halftime, before pulling away after intermission.

"We got there late, and I think it affected how we played in the first half," Rosewood coach Daniel Mitchell said.

Brandon Hietpas added two goals and three assists for Rosewood, who improved to 8-7-1 overall and 5-2 in the Class 1-A Carolina/Super-Six Conference.

Justin Demello recorded one goal, while Drew Kriger and Elliott Lee had one assist each.

Antell Richards had seven saves for the Eagles, who host Ayden-Grifton on Monday.

Falcons' Davis

notches hat trick

KINSTON -- Charles B. Aycock's Garrett Davis tallied a hat trick (three goals) and two assists as the Golden Falcons emerged with a 6-2 win at Kinston on Wednesday.

The win improved Aycock to 11-4 overall and 5-2 in the Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference.

The Vikings scored late in the first half to make the score 3-2 before the Falcons recorded three unanswered goals in the second half to put the game away.

Davis scored twice in the second half, while Drew Mussleman added a goal on a penalty kick in the 78th minute.

Jorge Delgado scored twice in the first half as Carson Sasser added one goal for the Falcons.

Aycock got one assist each by Chris Mullins, Delgado and Taylor Mills added one assist each.

The Falcons host Washington on Monday.

Warriors double-up

South Central

WINTERVILLE -- Eastern Wayne's Andrew Corley turned in a two-goal performance to help boost the Warriors past South Central 4-2 on Wednesday.

South Central scored first at the six minute mark, but the Warriors outscored the Falcons 4-1 the rest of the way, including three goals in the final ten minutes of the half.

David Hook and Rob Cagle added one goal each for Eastern Wayne (9-3, 7-1 Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference), who outshot South Central 15-5 on the match.

South Central's Ali Abdi scored in the only goal of the second half.

Joe Gossett had three assists for the Warriors, who travel to Kinston on Monday.

The Falcons (4-7-1 overall) dropped to 1-4-1 in ECC play.

Saints suffer

road loss

WASHINGTON -- Washington scored four of its five goals on headers and claimed a 5-1 win at home over Southern Wayne on Wednesday.

The Saints got their lone goal from Mario Seguara, who scored his sixth goal of the season.

Southern Wayne (2-8, 1-6 Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference) hosts Charles B. Aycock on Oct. 18.

Hobbton edges

Spring Creek

SEVEN SPRINGS -- Spring Creek's Ricardo Ramirez scored two goals in the second half in a 4-3 loss at home to Hobbton on Wednesday.

Eric Menjivar added one goal for the Gators (3-8-0, 2-5 Class 1-A Carolina/Super-Six Conference) in the second half. The Gators led 2-1 at halftime.

Hobbton (2-5-1 overall) boosted its mark to 2-3-0 against conference foes.

Spring Creek travels to James Kenan on Monday.

Panthers continue

to roll

KENLY -- North Johnston, currently sitting atop the Class 1-A Carolina/Super-Six Conference standings, ended its non-conference schedule with a 7-2 win at home over Franklinton.

Jake Lomonaco posted a hat trick (three goals) and two assists, and now has 31 goals and nine assists on the season.

Garrett Stancil and Will Holloman added first-half goals for North Johnston (13-2-2), while Ashley Moore and Ryan Fitzgerald notched goals in the second half.

Stancil had three assists, while Raul Farfan and Josh Cooper had one assist each as the Panthers have now played 15 games without a loss. Stancil now has 13 assists as Farfan boosted his assist mark to 12.

John Fisher scored both Franklinton (9-5) goals.

Panther goalies Josh Cooper and Jay Pittman combined for seven saves.

North Johnston returns to conference action on Monday at Hobbton.

North Pitt

holds off Hawks

LAGRANGE -- North Lenoir's Ricky Jarman scored his team's lone goal as the Hawks dropped a 2-1 decision at home to North Pitt in Class 2-A Eastern Plains Conference action on Wednesday, heading into a home match

The loss drops North Lenoir (7-4-2 overall) and 1-1-0 in conference play heading into Monday's match at home with Greene Central.

North Pitt improved to 2-3-3 overall and 1-1-1 in the EPC.

Rams tally

overtime win

PINETOPS -- Greene Central's Jonathan Mendez scored in the first overtime period to help the Rams hold off SouthWest Edgecombe 1-0 on Wednesday.

The Rams improved to 6-6-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the Class 2-A Eastern Plains Conference and will travel to rival North Lenoir on Monday.

The Cougars (8-7-1 overall) fell to 2-2 in the conference.

Greene Central defeated Ayden-Grifton 5-0 on Tuesday.

Norwayne Middle

Wayne Country Day's David Wilson scored four goals as the Chargers defeated Norwayne Middle School 4-2 on Wednesday.

The win improves the Chargers to 4-5-1 overall heading into a home match today against Ridgecroft.
