HARRELLS -- Harrells Christian Academy defeated James Kenan 8-1 in a non-conference contest on Monday.

The Tigers played the match without two starting singles players, Erica Brown and Brittany Crabtree.

James Kenan picked up its only win at number one doubles as Christa Jones and Allison Fonvielle defeated Anna Carr and Collyn Webster 8-6.

Harrells won all six singles matches in straight sets.

Kenan travels to Goldsboro on Thursday.

PIKEVILLE -- Greene Central's Brittany Horton started the afternoon with a 6-2, 6-4 win at number one singles as the Rams defeated Charles B. Aycock 7-2 on Monday.

Elizabeth Cooper, Codee Grant, Sara Beth Carraway and Ashley Grant added singles wins for the Rams, who also defeated Aycock 8-1 on Sept. 29. Greene Central also won at one and three doubles.

The Golden Falcons' Kristen Prosser claimed a win at number three singles, while the doubles combination of Katie Perry and Prosser emerged with a victory at two doubles.

Aycock (9-5) travels to Eastern Wayne today.
