Lomonaco continues record-setting pace
SEVEN SPRINGS -- North Johnston's Jake Lomonaco continued his assault on his school's record books with a five-goal performance in the Panthers' 6-2 win at Spring Creek on Wednesday.
The five-goal effort was a North Johnston single-game record. His 23 goals on the season is also a school record.
Lomonaco scored four times in the first half, while teammate Alan Rodriguez added a goal later in the first half.
Spring Creek's Ricky Galloway and Jed Potter also posted goals in an offensive first half of play.
Lomonaco added a goal on an assist from Ashley Moore early in the second half to cap the scoring. Garrett Stancil, Ryan Fitzgerald, Marvin Molina and Raul Farfan also had assists for the Panthers, who improved to 11-2-2 overall and 4-0-1 in the Class 1-A Carolina/Super Six Conference.
Darwin Aldana notched an assist for the Gators (3-6-1, 2-3 Carolina/SS), who return to action on Monday at home against Rosewood. North Johnston travels to Farmville Central on Monday.
CBA eases past
South Central
PIKEVILLE -- Charles B. Aycock defeated South Central 3-2 at home on Wednesday in an Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference battle.
The win improved the Golden Falcons to 10-3 overall and 4-1 in ECC play heading into Monday's clash at Eastern Wayne. South Central (1-6-1 overall) fell to 0-3-1 in conference.
No further information was provided on the match.
Rams, Panthers
tie in EPC match
BETHEL -- Greene Central's Hugo Trejo and Jonathan Mendez scored one goal each as the Rams finished in a 2-2 at North Pitt on Wednesday in the Class 2-A Eastern Plains Conference opener for both teams.
The Rams (4-5-2, 0-0-1 EPC) led 2-1 at halftime and host Tarboro on Monday.

Wayne Christian 2, Seymour Johnson 0 -- Gregory Alexander and Bradley Yelverton scored one goal each for Wayne Christian. Josh Best and Alexander had assists for the Eagles, who improved to 2-0 on the season.
