Chargers Flora McDonald
Shadow Stewart, Tim Moore and Ross Wilson each collected their first goal of the season Thursday in Wayne Country Day's 10-0 rout of Flora MacDonald Academy.
Nine players scored for the Chargers, who are ranked No. 5 in the latest N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association Class 1-A poll.
Alex Proimos contributed two goals. Will Futrell, Jun Suk Yon, Kevin Logan, John Bridgers and Sam Steed each tallied a single goal.
Wayne Country Day (8-2-1) travels to Ridgecroft today for an important Coastal Plains Independent 1-A/2-A Conference contest. The Rams (6-2-1) are ranked fourth statewide.
Greene Central
hammers Kinston
SNOW HILL -- Jonathan Mendez recorded the hat trick (three goals) as Greene Central dumped Kinston 5-2 in a non-conference match Thursday at the James R. Fulghum Athletic Complex.
Tino Fernandez provided two goals.
The Rams (4-5-1) kick off their Eastern Plains 2-A Conference schedule next Wednesday at North Pitt. Game time is 6 p.m.
