Prep tennis -- GC still unbeaten in conference

AYDEN -- Greene Central's Ashley Harrell boosted her record to 9-1 on the season with a win at number five singles as the Rams remained unbeaten in the Classes 2-A Eastern Plains/1-A Carolina Conference by topping Ayden-Grifton 9-0.
The road win boosted the Rams (9-1 overall) to a 7-0 record in conference play.
Meredith Rouse, Sarah Moore, Summer Chase, Holly Mace, Ashley Harrell and Christi Murphy helped Greene Central sweep the singles matches as the Rams also took all three doubles contests.
Greene Central returns to action today at home against North Lenoir.
