NEWTON GROVE -- Devon Bennett and Anthony Gibson each found the end zone on back-to-back possessions as Rosewood claimed its first win of the season, 14-0, at Hobbton.
Holt Rains, Jonathan Peedin, Eric Jones and Chris Hare led the Eagle defense, which earned its first shutout of the season.
"They played great and had several sacks," Rosewood coach Daniel Baynes said. "Holt was in the backfield all night. Peedin played real well at free safety."
Rosewood (1-1) travels to Roanoke Rapids next Thursday.
