JV football -- G. Central nips C.B. Aycock

SNOW HILL -- Greene Central evened its record at 1-1 with a 22-18, non-conference victory against C.B. Aycock at the James R. Fulghum Athletic Complex on Thursday.

Damian Phillips led the Rams with 72 yards rushing, including a 50-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. Receivers Reggie Jones and William Brown hauled in touchdown receptions of 15 and 5 yards, respectively.

Justin Tyson led the Rams defense with 11 tackles, while Curtis Braswell chipped in 10 and had a fumble hit. Daniel Vines added eight tackles and intercepted the Aycock quarterback once.

Statistics were not available on the Golden Falcons.

Greene Central travels to Ayden-Grifton next Thursday, while Aycock (1-1) is the guest of county rival Goldsboro.
