WILSON -- Charles B. Aycock's girls tennis team ran their overall record to 6-1 after a solid, 6-3 win over Greenfield School on Wednesday in Wilson.

The Golden Falcons got singles wins in spots one-through-four from Raychel Batts, Leslie Sasser, Carlyn Claiborne and Nicole Taylor. In doubles, Sasser and Claiborne picked up a win at number one, while Batts and Patricia Owen claimed a victory at number two doubles.

"Greenfield really challenged us today. We were fortunate to win," Aycock coach Luke Vail said. "Each match, our goal is to play consistent tennis throughout the lineup."

The Golden Falcons travel to face county and Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference rival Eastern Wayne today at 4 p.m.
