Warthogs pop K-Tribe

WINSTON-SALEM -- The Winston-Salem Warthogs (41-23, 70-64) beat Kinston, 7-1, Tuesday at Ernie Shore Field. With the win, the Warthogs and Indians are now in a first place tie in the Southern Division.
Warthog starter Wes Whisler earned his second win. Whisler scattered just two hits and no runs in seven innings. Kinston starter, Nick Pesco, suffered his first loss in two starts with Kinston. Pesco gave up three unearned runs on six hits in five innings.
Tommy Nicholson and Josh Fields each had two hits for the Warthogs. The Indians were held to only three hits on the night.
