James Kenan shuts out Roanoke

ROBERSONVILLE -- James Kenan was dominant from the first sanp of the ball Friday night, beating Roanoke 36-0 for its second win of the season.

The Tigers opend up the scoring on a 21-yard touchdown pass from Kelvin Miller to Michael Jarman. Miller ran in a two-point conversion and Kenan held an 8-0 lead with less than five minutes gone in the game. Jimmy Glaspie adde a touchdown on a four-yard run to move out to a 16-0 first-quarter lead after Brian Merriman's conversion run.

Alex Flores had two touchdowns in the second half and led all rushers with 62 yards on five carries. Miller hooked up for 160 yards through the air, with four catches for Matt Bass for 91 yards. Miller threw a second touchdown pass, to Bass, for 18 yards.

Marcus Sloan had an interception and two pass breakups, and ran back two punts for 45 total yards. Tim Faison had a fumble recovery for James Kenan (2-0), which travels to Rocky Point Friday to meet Heide Trask.
