JV football -- Aycock outlasts Rosewood

Chris Foreman and Travis Milligan each accounted for two touchdowns as Charles B. Aycock survived Rosewood in an offensive slugfest at Branch Pope Field.
The teams combined for 692 yards total offense on 91 plays and each lost two fumbles on the rain-slickened turf.
The Golden Falcons' Chris Foreman started the shootout by returning the opening kickoff for 75 yards. Joseph Toler tallied his lone touchdown, a 20-yard run, less than two minutes later. He emerged the Golden Falcons' top rusher with 131 yards on a game-high 15 attempts.
Devon Bennett answered with the first of his three touchdowns, a 40-yard rumble, for the Eagles in the opening quarter. Bennett added two second-half scores on runs of 48 and 75 yards, and collected 192 yards on just seven carries for the game.
Aycock's Trevor Pilkington threw a scoring strike to Foreman. Teammates Travis Milligan and Jarrett Covar combined for Aycock's three second-half touchdowns. Milligan amassed 104 yards rushing on eight carries.
Anthony Gibson and Chris Holmes also tallied touchdowns for Rosewood.
Toler and Milligan paced the Golden Falcon defense with seven stops apiece. Eric Taylor contributed five tackles, while Josh Overton had four.
Jeremy Bagley and Holt Rains led the Eagle defense.
C.B. Aycock (1-0) is the guest of Greene Central next Thursday, while Rosewood (0-1) travels to Hobbton. Both games are scheduled for 7 p.m. starts.
