FAYETTEVILLE -- Greene Central won at singles' spots three through six and came away with a 6-3 win at perennially strong Class 4-A Fayetteville Terry Sanford on Monday.

Summer Chase, Holly Mace, Ashley Harrell and Christi Murphy all won in singles for the Rams, who improved to 4-0 on the season. All four of the wins were in straight sets.

In doubles, Greene Central's Chase and Carolyn Turk won at number two, while Harrell and Murphy claimed a victory at number three.

"This was a nice win for our team," Greene Central coach Donald Clark said. "Terry Sanford has had one of the top 4-A programs in the state since I have been coaching. This was by far the best we have played as a team this year."

Mace, Harrell and Murphy are all 4-0 this season in singles for Greene Central, which travels to SouthWest Edgecombe today.
