Dixie 11-12s win in tournament

The Wayne County Dixie Youth all-stars beat Dunn 2-1 in the opening round of the district tournament at Mar Mac Community Ball park Saturday.
Michael Johnson scored the winning run bottom of sixth inning on a double by Hunter Newsome. The same duo combined to score the other run for Wayne County in the opening inning. Michael Johnston was the winning pitcher, combining with starter Dillon Parkins on a one-hitter. Jeff Jacobs had Dunn’s lone hit.
Tournament play continues this week at Mar Mac.
