PHILADELPHIA -- The Sports Network has tabbed Salem outfielder Adam Seuss and a trio of pitchers -- Myrtle Beach's Blaine Boyer and Anthony Lerew and Wilmington's Devon Lowery -- as the Carolina League batter and pitchers of the week ending Sunday, July 4.

The 23-year-old Seuss led the Carolina league in slugging percentage (.923) and homers (two) last week in four games to capture the league batting honors. Seuss batted .385, going 5-for-13 with four RBI and two runs scored.

Seuss had two hits, including a homer and two RBI versus Winston Salem on Saturday night and duplicated the feat one night later with a pair of hits, one of which was his fourth home run of the year against Wilmington.

The California native has raised his record to .335 with four home runs and 33 RBI on the year.

On the pitching side, the call was a toss-up between Boyer, Lerew and Lowery.

Boyer combined with Glenn Tucker on a three hitter en route to a 5-0 victory over Frederick. Boyer fanned four and walked one in evening his record to 6-6. Two days later, Lerew combined with Tucker on a six hitter en route to a 5-0 win over Potomac. Lerew allowed just five hits, fanned five and walked two as he raised his record to 8-3.

Lowery was just as potent for the Wilmington Blue Rocks as he combined with Nate Hoelscher on a four-hit shutout as the Blue Rocks eeked out a 2-0 win over Zach Duke and the Lynchburg Hillcats. Lowery allowed just three hits, struck out four and walked one to raise his record to 4-6 on the season.
