Wayne County

halted at Ahoskie

AHOSKIE -- Wayne County's scheduled Senior American Legion game at Ahoskie on Wednesday was canceled due to rain around 6:30 p.m.

The decision to make up the non-division road game has not been made.

Post 11 returns to action tonight in an Area One East/South Division match-up at Pitt County Post 160 (2-11, 0-4).

Wayne County (11-3, 2-1) looks to snap a three-game, road losing streak.

The first pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. at South Central High School in Winterville.

Snow Hill rained out

during third inning

SNOW HILL -- Snow Hill had just opened up a 4-0 lead at home against Martin County in the bottom of the third before lightning and eventually a steady downpour canceled the non-division contest.

The game will not be rescheduled.

Post 94's Jordy Davis was perfect through three innings with five strike outs.

Snow Hill catcher Joe Wade delivered a two-RBI double with a line drive over the right fielder, making the score 3-0. Post 94 got its first run on a wild pitch and another when Matthew Tyndall's single to right was misplayed -- allowing Wade to race home from second.

Post 94 takes a 6-6 overall record into its non-division game at home tonight against Beaufort County (5-2). First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
